Through the advocacy role, the CWM-Masaka youth desk in partnership with ECO_BRIX conducted a climate change advocacy to raise awareness about waste management, environmental protection and conservation for the common good. YCWM _DEXCO conducted the event under the theme, “environmental conservation- building awareness and business opportunities.” With different objectives which included but not limited to
Objective/ purpose of the Event
- Build a culture of more ecologically responsible behavior among civil society by demonstrating proper waste disposal and management through calling upon all stakeholders to participate in plastic collection and cleaning towns
- Create awareness among young people about the impact of poor waste management, leading to rapid depletion of natural resources, and make youth in Masaka contribute to the conservation of the same.
- Young people explore and engage in business opportunities associated with proper waste management, reforestation, carbon farming, upcycling, recycling, crafting among others.
